The two witnesses seemed nice. Once had a very deep voice. One had a bow tie. They had nothing to pin on the President, except they didn’t like Rudy mucking around in their diplomatic business.

IMPEACH:Got him! That call! Trump doesn’t care about Ukraine. The call, overheard by one of Taylor’s aides, puts the president more squarely in the middle of the swirling Ukraine scandal that has led Democrats to allege that the White House tried to withhold military assistance and an Oval Office meeting from Ukraine until Kyiv announced investigations into former vice president Joe Biden and his son, as well as an unfounded theory that Ukrainians interfered in the 2016 presidential election to hurt Trump.
Libs reach for straws: Taylor aide overheard Trump on phone asking about “investigations.”
Paydirt? MQ:Mr. Taylor testified to the House Intelligence Committee that he learned only recently of a July telephone call overheard by one of his aides in which the president was preoccupied with Ukraine’s willingness to say it would look into Mr. Biden and work by his son Hunter Biden for a Ukrainian energy firm. Immediately afterward, Mr. Taylor said, the aide had been informed that Mr. Trump cared more about “investigations of Biden” than he did about Ukraine.
In LA Times opinion guy says swing and missi
MQ: “What I can do here for you today is tell you what I heard from people,” Taylor said at one point to the Democratic counsel, which is not exactly compelling evidence if you are trying to convince the American people that what happened is worthy of taking down a presidency. In Taylor’s defense, he said he did not appear as a witness for either side of this debate, but obviously Democrats were hoping people would view him as a witness helpful to their impeachment ambitions.
NYT admits swing miss.
MQ: It was not clear that minds were changed. Certainly they were not inside the room, and most likely not elsewhere on Capitol Hill, where Republicans and Democrats were locked into their positions long ago. Nor were there any immediate signs that the hearing penetrated the general public. While major television networks broke into regular programming to carry it live, there was little sense of a riveted country putting everything aside to watch à la Watergate.
WSJ takes measure approach: Trump pressed for Ukraine investigations. That’s it.

WP shocked the Republicans have a narrative, insist nobody can follow it.
MQ: The competing information streams are epitomized by MSNBC and CNN, which have reported heavily on the impeachment inquiry, and Fox News, Trump’s favorite network. But those outlets and others trained their attention on the same scene on Wednesday — giving viewers from each world a rare glimpse into the other.
Politico says “brutal day” for President.

CNN’s Toobin: yeah it’s a problem for dems that neither witness ever even met Trump.

Taylor becomes online heartthrob because of that Cronkite voice.

Schmuck, it was really all about the bow tie.

Schmuck it’s really all about Jordan’s shirtsleeves

TRUMP:Big warm welcome for Erdogan while Impeachment hearings underway.
The emails that are supposed to bring Stephen Miller down.
SPLC is after him. Yawn.

POLITICS:Republicans consider longer impeachment to scramble Dem primaries.
MQ: The discussions raise a potential hazard for the six Democratic senators running for president, who had previously planned on a final sprint out of Washington before the Feb. 3 Iowa caucuses and the Feb. 11 New Hampshire primary.
Deval Patrick is IN! Because Biden…
MQ: Joining the campaign less than three months before the first votes are cast in Iowa, at a moment when candidates are usually dropping out and not jumping in, Mr. Patrick will face long odds. Yet his decision to run reflects the fractured nature of the Democratic race at a moment when Michael R. Bloomberg, the former mayor of New York City, has also taken steps to enter the primary.

SJW: Student protesters angry newspaper ran their picture asked them questions
MQ: At a time when some say heightened sensitivities have become the norm on American campuses, it is not uncommon for college newspaper editors to be confronted by students who are upset at being photographed in a public place without being asked for their permission; who view receiving a text message or phone call from a reporter as an invasion of their privacy; and who expect journalists to help assuage their concerns that graphic images in a newspaper could cause trauma to readers.
Student body President invited Don Jr to speak. Now he’s being impeached
Supposedly it’s about the $50k
Kaepernick hasn’t been told who will attend his workout.
MQ: A league employee, who requested anonymity, said on Wednesday that the N.F.L. had never promised to send Kaepernick a list of people who would attend the workout but that multiple clubs would be there. The league has not specified whether the representatives will be people with influence over team rosters.
Disney’s ‘outdate cultural depictions” is not enough. Just say it’s racist dammit
