  1. Tell me why the abusive, low-life message that Rep. Castro left on a constituent’s voicemail shouldn’t result in a House censure???…at the very least.
    Good to hear from Khalil.
Also, enjoyed a few seconds of Les Paul and “How High the Moon.” Memories. First heard him when I was in the 8th grade in 1951. My scout troop was supposed to go down the Umpqua River in canoes for a week but the river was too high and it got canceled at the very last minute. Big disappointment. My family had no money, but one of the kids was rich and his parents had a cabin on a lake north of Coos Bay. The kid was a friend of my best friend so that’s how the three us wound up spending the week at their cabin…by ourselves, no adults. There was a speedboat and we did late-night swims from their private dock. There were also records and a 45 RPM player. I discovered Les Paul. Some 58 years later (about 2006), not too long before he died, my wife and I saw Paul for the first time in a New York nightclub. I will never forget the opening. The room was darkened, the stage curtain closed, and from those great speakers came the first notes of “How High the Moon.” The curtain parted, the lights came up and there was Les Paul and those wonderful tunes (though sans Mary Ford). As you know, I’m not a country bumpkin anymore. I spent five years with the Oakland Raiders and eight years with the Golden State Warriors, but those first notes triggered memories of that long-ago week on the lake. It’s one of the great thrills of my 81 years.
Sorry, TMI. I’m old and garrulous.

    1. You’ve got me by a decade but we have similar (and enlightened) tastes which include Mr. Gibson. My path went from Jesup, IA to Winona MN to Vancouver Island, BC.
ps Go GSW and a pox on the Raptors!
